Arcigay is the Italian Lesbian and Gay Association. "Arcigay Pride! - Pisa" is its local branch in Pisa, Italy.
Located in the Tuscan city of the Leaning Tower, our association stands for the rights of LGBT persons in a variety of fields:
- LGB youth group
- information, peer counselling and support for LGBT people
- education in high schools for teachers and students
- prevention and information on sexually transmitted diseases (STM's)
- training courses on LGBT issues within regional programs for voluntary associations
- anti-discrimination training courses for health staff within regional programs of the National Health Service
Pisa is indeed a very LGBT friendly city, approximately 15 minutes' drive from several seaside locations, as well as other beautiful Tuscan cities such as Lucca and Leghorn (Livorno), 1 hour far from Florence and Siena.
During one week, usually in August, there is a LGBT Mardi Gras in Torre del Lago, where we also run a stand.
